Faravaz is an Iranian singer, songwriter, and activist based in Berlin. Born in Tehran in 1990, she developed her musical voice under restrictive conditions that prohibited women from performing solo publicly, leading her into the underground music scene. After being arrested for sharing her work online, she fled Iran and rebuilt her life in exile. Her music blends alternative pop with Middle Eastern influences and is known for its bold, political themes, advocating for women’s rights and queer communities. Faravaz is the founder of “The Right to Sing e.V.” and has gained international recognition with releases such as Azadi (2025), as well as global media coverage and awards for her activism and artistic work.
