Spanish avant-garde artist C. Tangana released his new album „El Madrileño” today. It’s an homage to his hometown. The project digs deep into the roots of Madrid’s essential sounds but also incorporates visual imagery and a sense of tradition that begs to be discovered, unpeeled and re-listened to. He raps and sings, as traditional Spanish guitar intertwining with electronic loops and handclaps. It’s not the first time he’s toyed with the classical Spanish genre: he co-wrote eight songs with Rosalía on her Grammy-album ‘El Mal Querer’.
