AYGYUL is a Vienna-based singer, songwriter, music producer and visual artist making electronic post-pop about connection, identity and the many colours of love. Moving between EDM, R&B, hip-hop and UK garage, she combines bold pop songwriting, intricate electronic production and a voice spanning more than three octaves. Her music moves between physical intensity and emotional vulnerability, creating space for desire, freedom and the full complexity of being human. Born and raised in Kazan, Tatarstan, AYGYUL draws on her Tatar and Eastern European roots and classical opera training to shape a distinctive sound and visual universe. After leaving Russia at 21 to live openly as a queer woman, she rebuilt her life and career in Vienna, teaching herself music production along the way. Co-written with her wife, Pati Avish, her debut album YOU AND I explores the many forms of love and connection — with others, with our bodies, and with the parts of ourselves we are still learning to accept.
